WINS A GOLD, THREE SILVER AND TWO BRONZE STATUES

TO BECOME THE MOST AWARDED AGENCY IN BRAZIL

AT THE 26TH ANNUAL

LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

(London, 14 November 2011) The 26th LIA judging was held at the Wynn/Encore Hotel in Las Vegas, convening over a ten-day period. The juries, led by their respective Jury Presidents, viewed and scored every entry within their medium ensuring that all the work was judged equally. They concluded with final discussions to determine Grand LIAs, Statue Winners and Finalists.

Loducca, Sao Paulo led the Brazilian statue tally count at the 2011 London International Awards Show with one Gold Statue, three Silver Statues and two Bronze Statues.

Four different juries saw fit to award five statues to the same piece of work for MTV “Balloons”. “Balloons” received a Gold by the Design Jury in Art Direction; the TV – Technique Jury awarded a Silver in Animation and a Bronze in Direction; the TV – Music Jury awarded a Bronze in Music Adaptation and the TV/Cinema/Online Film Jury awarded a Silver in Media Promotion. Loducca’s sixth statue, a Silver, was awarded by the Digital Jury in the Beverages – Non-Alcoholic category for Red Bull “Street Art View”.

Y&R Brazil won a Gold Statue in Radio – Media Promotion for Radio Eldorado “Moving”. They also won a Silver in Radio – Innovative Use of Radio for that same piece of work.

“It is great for Brazil, which is traditionally strong in the printed media, to win so many statues in other Media this year,” commented Barbara Levy, President of LIA.

Almap BBDO, São Paulo won two Bronze Statues and placed twice as a Finalist:

• Bronze – Print – Consumer Campaign for Volkswagen Tiguan "Cards", "Balloons" and "Nails"
• Bronze – TV/Cinema/Online Film – Automotive for Volkswagen Tiguan "Translator"
• Finalist – Print – Consumer Campaign for Billboard Magazine
"Jimi Hendrix", "Iron Maiden", "Lady Gaga", "Madonna" and "Michael Jackson"
• Finalist – Poster – Campaign for Volkswagen Tiguan "Origami", "Puppet" and "Magic"

Leo Burnett Tailor Made, São Paulo won one Silver Statue and placed twice as a Finalist:

  • Silver – TV/Cinema/Online Film – Office Equipment for Samsung Printer "Optical Illusion"
  • Finalist – TV/Cinema/Online Film – Campaign for Samsung Printer "Dolls", "Soldiers" and "Rabbits"
  • Finalist – Print – Business-to-Business Campaign for FIAT - Ambulance Line "Cannon", "Iceberg" and "Gate"

Wunderman, São Paulo won one Bronze Statue:

  • Bronze – The NEW Category for Bonafont "The Tweeting Fridge"

The following have attained Finalist status:

B+G Designers, São Paulo
• Design – Environmental Installations/Displays – Permanent for Nestlé "Nestlé Coming to You on Board"

Lew’Lara/TBWA, São Paulo
• Print – Public Service/Social Welfare Campaign for Pedigree Adoption Drive – “Dog Cage Campaign”

Ogilvy Brasil, São Paulo attained three Finalist Certificates

  • Finalist Non-Traditional – Direct Marketing for Bar Aurora & Boteco Ferraz “Drunk Valet”
  • Finalist – TV/Cinema/Online Film – Sound Design – Fanta “Lift&Laugh”
  • Finalist – TV/Cinema/Online Film – Music Adaptation – Flying Horse Energy Drink “Adrenalina”

Publicis Brasil, São Paulo
• Non-Traditional – Media Promotion for AXN Channel “AXN TV Boxes”

Santa Clara, São Paulo
• Non-Traditional – Direct Marketing - Festival El Ojo de Iberoamerica – “Self-Destructive El Ojo Trophy”

This year only three Grand LIAs were awarded.

Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Boulder has won the Grand LIA in The NEW Category for American Express OPEN “Small Business Saturday.”

Marshall Street Editors, London was awarded a Grand LIA in the Medium of TV/Cinema/Online Film – Technique for Heineken “The Entrance.”

JWT, Shanghai was awarded a Grand LIA in the medium of Print for Samsonite Suitcase titled “Heaven and Hell.”

Of the 14,283 submissions, from 79 countries, less than four percent (3.6%) attained Shortlist status. Of those elite selections, only 0.4% won Gold Statues; 0.7% Silver Statues; 0.9% Bronze Statues and 1.5% Finalist. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when only 2,600 submissions were entered.

LIA has also awarded Network of the Year, Agency of the Year and Post-Production Company of the Year. These winners were decided based on the outstanding work chosen by the Juries across all media.
