MARSHALL STREET EDITORS
WINS A GRAND LIA AND TWO GOLD STATUES
AT THE 26TH ANNUAL
 LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

(London, 14 November 2011) The 26th LIA judging was held at the Wynn/Encore Hotel in Las Vegas, convening over a ten-day period. The juries, led by their respective Jury Presidents, viewed and scored every entry within their medium ensuring that all the work was judged equally. They concluded with final discussions to determine Grand LIAs, Statue Winners and Finalists.

Marshall Street Editors won the first ever Grand LIA in TV/Cinema/Online Film - Technique, they also won two Gold Statues. They were awarded the Grand LIA for Heineken titled “The Entrance”. “The Entrance” also won them the Gold in TV/Cinema/Online Film – Editing.  The second Gold Statue was awarded for T-Mobile titled “Welcome Home” in TV/Cinema/Online Film – Editing.

Barbara Levy, President of LIA stated, “I am very pleased that the first ever TV Technique Grand LIA has been awarded to a company in London.  It is very exciting to recognize innovative technique that raises the industry bar.”

Other winning companies from the United Kingdom included:


MPC, London won three Gold Statues:
• Two Gold - TV/Cinema/Online Film - Animation and Visual Effects for
  Cadbury titled “Spots vs. Stripes”
• Gold - TV/Cinema/Online Film - Visual Effects - DirecTV titled “Ice Cream”

AMV BBDO, London won a two Gold Statues, one Silver Statue and three Bronze Statues:
• Gold - Integrated Campaign for The London Metropolitan Police Anti-Knife Crime  
   titled “Who Killed Deon?”
• Gold - Digital - Public Service/Social Welfare for The London Metropolitan
   Police Anti-Knife Crime titled “Who Killed Deon?”
• Silver - TV/Cinema/Online Film – Public Service/Social Welfare for The
    London Metropolitan Police Anti-Knife Crime titled “Who Killed Deon?”
• Bronze - Print - Public Service/Social Welfare Campaign for Tower Hamlets
     Anti-Text Campaign titled “Mums”, “Boys” and “Girls”
• Two Bronze - Print – Art Direction Campaign and Use of Illustration Campaign for V&A Museum of Childhood 
  titled  “Plasticine”, “Playtime”, “Nostrils” and “Minds”
They also attained three Finalists in Non-Traditional – Corporate Image; Digital – Media Promotion and Poster – Campaign

AKQA, London won a Gold Statue and a Bronze Statue:
• Gold - The NEW Category for Heineken titled “Star Player”
• Bronze - Digital - Beverages – Alcoholic for Heineken titled “Star Player”

Aardman Animations, Bristol won a Silver Statue:
• Silver - TV/Cinema/Online Film - Personal/Gift Items for Nokia N8 titled
  “The World’s Smallest Stop Motion Animated Character”
They also attained a in TV/Cinema/Online Film - Animation

Axis Animation, Glasgow won two Bronze Statues:
• Two Bronze - TV/Cinema/Online Film – Animation and Recreational for Dead Island titled “Dead Island Trailer”
They also attained a Finalist in Television/Cinema/Online Film - Music

CHI & Partners, London won two Gold Statues:
• Gold - TV/Cinema/Online Film – Visual Effects for Britvic-Drench titled “Cubehead”
• Gold - TV/Cinema/Online Film – Animation for Carphone Warehouse - TalkTalk titled “Homes Within Homes”
They also attained a Finalist in TV/Cinema/Online Film – Music

Dare, London won one Gold Statue:
• Gold - TV/Cinema/Online Film – Campaign for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 – Product Testing Campaign
   titled “Models”, “Toddlers”, “Guidos”, “Glam Rockers”, “Seniors” and “Surfers”

DDB UK, London won one Silver Statue:
• Silver - Poster – Campaign for Harvey Nichols Summer Sale – Daylight Robbery Campaign titled
   “Clown Mask”, “Stocking” and “Balaclava”
They also attained a Finalist in Digital – Beverages – Alcoholic Campaign

Fallon, London won one Silver Statue:
• Silver - The NEW Category for Tate Movie Project

Gorgeous, London won one Silver Statue and two Bronze Statues:
• Silver - TV/Cinema/Online Film – Telecommunications for T-Mobile titled “Wedding Dance”
• Bronze - TV/Cinema/Online Film – Editing for Lexus CT 200H titled “Quiet Revolution”
• Bronze - TV/Cinema/Online Film – Cinematography for Budweiser titled “Pool”

Interbrand, London won one Silver LIA:
• Silver - Design - Brand Identity – Global for Pearson Brand Identity

Mad Cow Films, London won one Gold Statue and one Silver Statue:
•  Gold - Digital - Public Service/Social Welfare for The London Metropolitan Police Anti-Knife Crime
   titled “Who Killed Deon?”
• Silver - TV/Cinema/Online Film - Public Service/Social Welfare for The London Metropolitan
   Police Anti-Knife Crime titled “Who Killed Deon?”

The Mill, London won one Gold Statue:
• Gold - TV/Cinema/Online Film - Visual Effects for Volkswagen Beetle titled “Black Beetle”

Moving Brands, London won one Bronze Statue:
• Bronze - Design – Brand Identity for Global for All About Tea

Nexus Production, London won one Silver Statue:
• Silver -- TV/Cinema/Online Film – Editing for Intel Core titled “The Chase”

Ogilvy & Mather, London won one Bronze Statue:
• Bronze - Design – Poster Campaign for First Edition Restaurant titled  
   “Chips”, “Grapes”, “Cork Screw”, “Tinker” and “Expectations”

R/GA, London one Bronze Statue:
• Bronze - TV/Cinema/Online Film – Cinematography for Nokia titled
  “Success Redefined”

RKCR/Y&R, London won three Sliver Statues and one Bronze Statue:
• Silver - TV/Cinema/Online Film - Animation for Land Rover Freelander titled “Claynation - Interview”
• Silver - TV/Cinema/Online Film - Use of Licensed Music for Virgin Atlantic Airways titled “It”
• Silver - Print - Automotive for Land Rover Defender titled “Passport Stamps”
• Bronze - TV/Cinema/Online Film - Music Adaptation for Dreams Beds titled “Good Morning”

This year only three Grand LIAs were awarded. 

Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Boulder has won the Grand LIA in The NEW Category for American Express OPEN “Small Business Saturday.”

Marshall Street Editors, London was awarded a Grand LIA in the Medium of TV/Cinema/Online Film – Technique for Heineken “The Entrance.”

JWT, Shanghai was awarded a Grand LIA in the medium of Print for Samsonite Suitcase titled “Heaven and Hell.”

Of the 14,283 submissions, from 79 countries, less than four percent (3.6%) attained Shortlist status. Of those elite selections, only 0.4% won Gold Statues; 0.7% Silver Statues; 0.9% Bronze Statues and 1.5% Finalist. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when only 2,600 submissions were entered.
LIA has also awarded Network of the Year, Agency of the Year and
Post-Production Company of the Year. These winners were decided based on the outstanding work chosen by the Juries across all media.
