Basic description of the project: In Australia during January 2011 Victoria and Queensland experienced severe flooding. The equivalent area of France and Germany went under water. 35 people lost their lives and 200,000+ people were displaced. Thousands of homes were destroyed with the damage bill reaching billions of dollars.
The Australian Red Cross began helping communities affected with shelter, food, sanitation and support. However they desperately needed donations and awareness.
We installed a ‘flooded house’ in the middle of Sydney Harbour on Australia Day, a national holiday and the harbour’s busiest day. We reminded Australians to donate to those Australians still suffering.
