Basic description of the project:
Every Chinese New Year in Hong Kong, the biggest tradition is to give and receive Lucky Red Packets – containing lucky money – to wish friends and family good fortune for the year ahead. So to cut though the clutter without spending millions of dollars in advertising, we created ‘French Fry’ Lucky Red Packets – a festive blessing from McDonald’s to the people of Hong Kong. The packs became an innovative new medium. The people of Hong Kong effectively became our distribution channel (passing them on to friends and family). And McDonald’s became part of every message.
